Core Keeper

Core Keeper Ghorm Guide: Find, Fight and Claim the Horn

The quick answer

Find Ghorm's wide slime circuit between the clay and ruins regions. Clear room beside the track, remove slowing Ground Slime, and keep moving once it switches from patrolling to chasing. Return Ghorm's Horn to its Core statue.

PC-focused guidance. Exact values may differ by version, difficulty and world type.

Find the slime circuit

Ghorm travels around a broad slime-covered ring between the Clay Caves and Forgotten Ruins. Find the track and wait for it, or use a Ghorm Scanner. Do not dig toward one supposedly universal coordinate.

Prepare room to move

Bring repaired iron-level or better available equipment, healing and movement food. Clear an open area beside the track and shovel away Ground Slime that would slow you down.

Traps can help with the opening damage, but a guaranteed trap count from an old video may not hold across versions, difficulty settings and multiplayer.

Recognise the chase

Concentrate damage while Ghorm is patrolling until its behaviour changes into an aggressive chase and turn-back pattern. Keep moving across open ground, stay out of its body’s path, and attack during safe gaps.

Walls and pits are not a reliable cage: Ghorm destroys terrain along its route. Do not sacrifice your escape space to a barrier plan.

Sources disagree about the exact health threshold for the transition. Watch the visible switch from patrol to pursuit instead of waiting for a specific percentage.

Finish progression or arrange a rematch

Collect Ghorm’s Horn and place it in the matching Core statue. A rematch uses a Ghorm Summoning Idol at the rune on a branch of the track. If you are still trying to open the Great Wall, check the remaining Core items and dialogue.
