The three Core items
Defeat Glurch, Ghorm and Malugaz, place their progression items in the statues, and finish the Core dialogue before touching the Great Wall. Glurch first is useful because his statue provides scanners; the three fights can otherwise be approached in a different order.
Hive Mother is optional and is not the third required Core boss.
Find the Titan shrines
For a first summon, find the corresponding shrine rather than assuming the Ancient Hologram Pod already has the recipe. The 1.2 update introduced six Titan Shrines with scanners, summoning items and waypoints. The three Hydras share one shrine.
| Target | Preparation location | Locate and summon |
|---|---|---|
| Azeos | Nature shrine, Azeos’ Wilderness | Make its scanner and a Large Shiny Glimmering Object; place the object in its arena |
| Omoroth | Sea shrine, Sunken Sea | Make its scanner and an Expert Lure; equip the lure in the off-hand and fish in an arena whirlpool |
| Ra-Akar | Desert shrine, Desert of Beginnings | Make its scanner and a Thumper; place the Thumper in its arena |
| Druidra, Crydra, Pyrdra | Hydra shrine, Shimmering Frontier | Make the relevant scanner and Wind Organ of Wilderness, Ice or Fire; approach the target and use the matching organ |
| Core Commander | Crystal Meteor, Desert of Beginnings | Obtain all six Titan Souls, interact with the meteor and break it; the Summoning Idol is for a rematch |
Azeos → Omoroth → Ra-Akar is a useful equipment progression suggestion. The important Hydra dependency is different: Druidra drops the Pink Hydra Eye required for the Ice organ, and Crydra drops the White Hydra Eye required for the Fire organ.
The official 1.2.0.5 patch removed the Giant Bug Brain requirement from the Wilderness organ. Do not farm Ra-Akar for that obsolete requirement. After defeating the relevant boss, check the Spirit Merchant/Hologram Pod rematch menu; 1.2.0.5 also fixed Hydra unlocks there.
Check older worlds
Full-release worlds created before 1.2 can add Titan Shrines through the world settings’ Content Bundle. Classic Worlds have limitations around the 1.0 story; the publisher recommends a new world for the complete story experience. Check world history before relying on a fixed shrine direction or distance.
Continue beyond the story
A recommended later route is Nimruza → the northern gate → S.A.H.A.B.A.R. Make Nimruza’s scanner and Corrupted Sap at The Passage shrine, then place the Sap on its dungeon rune. Its Brood Void Neuron opens the gate north of the Core, beyond The Passage.
In Breaker’s Reach, make S.A.H.A.B.A.R.’s scanner and Profane Override at the local shrine. Use the Override on the interactive computer for the first encounter; use the rune for a rematch. The gate’s dependency on Nimruza is established. A recommendation to tackle this after the ending is not proof that Core Commander is a mandatory summoning prerequisite for Nimruza.
Hive Mother, King Slime, Ivy, Morpha, Igneous, Atlantean Worm and Urschleim are optional alongside the Core Commander story route. Oblidra is an additional Breaker’s Reach challenge, not one of the six required souls. This is a progression reference, not a ranking of every boss’s difficulty.
