Core Keeper

Core Keeper Cattle Guide: Transport, Feed and Ride

The quick answer

Build livestock tools, separate animals from enemies and crops, and feed each species the right food. Use a Leash nearby or a Cattle Transport Box for a longer move. In 1.3, a Saddle or Racing Saddle turns adult cattle into a mount.

Basic husbandry follows reviewed species references; riding steps follow the formal 1.3 announcement. Exact production intervals are not tested here.

Prepare a pen and tools

Separate cattle from enemies and crop plots: animals can eat crops. Make a Livestock Workbench from the Basic Workbench, then use it for a Leash, Cattle Transport Box and Feeding Tray.

For nearby moves, select a reusable Leash and interact with the animal to lead it home. For a longer trip, use a single-use transport box and release the animal at your base.

Feed the right species

Animals can eat from a Feeding Tray or food on the ground. Make sure they can reach the food.

Ride an adult animal

The 1.3 riding system uses a Saddle or Racing Saddle on adult cattle. After equipping it, approach with a clear line of sight and use the interaction prompt to mount. Follow your key bindings rather than assuming the preview’s E key is universal.

The saddle interface supports naming and behaviour adjustment. Remove the saddle to return the mount to ordinary cattle.

Diagnose missing products

Check the food type, whether the tray actually contains food, and whether the animal can reach it. This page does not promise a tested production interval for every animal or rank a preview branch’s fastest mount as a formal-release result.
